Aberafan Seafront

Aberafan Beach

Overview

Over the last 10 years, it is estimated that well over £30m of private sector investment has taken place on Aberafan Seafront.

The council has attracted funding from the Welsh Government and Europe which has been used to improve the physical environment of the area and introduce new leisure facilities helping make Aberafan an attractive place to visit, live and invest.

Up to £1.5m has been spent on improving parking facilities, landscaping, installing new promenade railings and improving signs, lighting and street furniture, while almost £2m spent has been spent on new play areas, a Skateboard Park and amphitheatre.

More than 240 executive homes and apartments have been built and sold, with more developments planned for the future.

The attraction of the Reel Cinema, Remo’s ice-cream parlour and two restaurants has also helped attract visitors from throughout the county, Swansea Bay and further afield.

Aberafan Beach has the water qualities to attract a range of watersports enthusiasts and a variety of attractions for both local residents and visitors to enjoy.
