Providing jobs for local people is a task that requires a co-ordinated approach by the Council and a range of other agencies. There are a range of organisations which offer employment support such as:
Workways
Workways+ offers training and paid work experience opportunities to long-term unemployed people to help get their lives back on track. Backed by £7.5 million of EU funds, the three-year scheme will benefit people in Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. The remainder of the funding will be provided by the South West Wales local authorities involved in delivering Workways+. Cyfle Building Skills
Cyfle Building Skills is the South West Wales shared apprenticeship scheme.
Go Wales
GO Wales offers a variety of services to help businesses recruit and retain graduate staff.
ProAct
ProAct provides training assistance to businesses experiencing difficulties due to the economic downturn and to those looking to prepare for recovery by up-skilling their workforce.
ReAct
ReAct provides a package of support to help people who have been made redundant or are under threat of redundancy.
