Top Tips for Tendering
Do:
- Read the advertisement carefully and submit requestsby the
dates shown.
- Read all documentation carefully and direct any queries to the
relevant contact officer.
- Make sure you provide all the information requested and answer
all questions accurately.
- If you do not understand any part of the specification, contact
the Council Officer named in the tender documentation by the
stipulated date and request further information.
- Return the tender as specified by the closing date and time in
the manner prescribed.
- Return the tender documentation to the specified address – make
sure it goes to the correct Council building.
- Respond promptly to any requests for further information.
Don't make obvious mistakes or errors as this
will lead to your tender being disqualified.
The following are the most common:
- Identification mark on the tender envelope.
- Tender documents received after the closing date - documents
should be returned no later than the closing date and time
indicated on the return of tender documents. If the deadline is
missed, tenders will not be considered.
- Tender documents sent to the wrong address - must be sent to
the stated return address.
- Tender form not signed.
- Not quoting a price for the specified product and/or
service.
- Not completing the tender documents in full.
- Not supplying samples of products or management information, if
requested.
- Unsatisfactory references or financial history.
