BOOKABLE. Swansea in the Second World War Talk by Bernard Lewis local author and historian Swansea’s port and industries were key targets for the Nazis during the Second World War. From the start, the town prepared for the worst with Britain heading into total war. Bernard Lewis explores the impact of the war on the town, how Jewish refugees to Swansea and Swansea children evacuated to safer areas fared, as well as at the war’s effects on everyday life and the consequences of the numerous air raids and the searing ‘Swansea Blitz’ attacks of February 1941. Copies of Bernard’s book of the same title will be available to purchase from the author himself.
